Plain-language terms. Effective 2026-07-01.

The service

OpenKey provides API access to third-party AI models through a unified endpoint. You pay the provider’s list price plus a flat 3% platform fee, charged against your prepaid balance. Prices shown on model pages are the prices billed; the exact cost of every request is returned in its response.

Your responsibilities

• Keep your keys secret; requests made with your key are yours.
• Follow the acceptable-use policies of the upstream model providers your requests are routed to — each model page links them.
• No abuse: no attempts to breach the platform, resell access in violation of provider terms, or generate illegal content.

Our responsibilities

• Bill exactly what we quote: provider list price + 3%, no other fees.
• Report service health honestly on /status and follow the published error-semantics contract.
• Give 30 days’ notice for material changes to these terms or the fee.

Availability & liability

Upstream providers fail sometimes; we surface those failures honestly rather than masking them. The service is provided as-is; our total liability is capped at the fees you paid us in the last 12 months.

Termination

You can close your account and withdraw an unused balance at any time. We may suspend keys used for abuse, with notice and a stated reason except where legally constrained.
